What I got from this is that the girl is the boy’s sister, and she either died/committed suicide. Perhaps the girl was teased/bullied (From the line, “Fingers always being pointed her way”), and the boy, not wanting anything to do with that, decided to distance himself from his sister (Hence the line, “So let’s not walk together anymore.”) Deep down the boy actually cared about the girl, but couldn’t say that because it might’ve been “uncool” because she was a girl or because she was his sister, and he was afraid of being teased, too. He slowly started to notice the girl becoming dull and depressed, but he said nothing about it because she was still smiling, after all. At , the girl reached out to the boy, seeking for help because she couldn’t help but notice her younger/older brother just standing to the side, accepting the fact that she was being bullied. In the MV, He gets up from the bench and leaves, signaling that he knew, he just didn’t want to get involved like that. At

The way I see it:"The you who passed through the tunnel did so by walking straight ahead, facing forward" The tunnel is The Tunnel of Death, connecting our world to the afterlife. I take this song to be about the sister's suicide because she "walked straight ahead, facing forward" to her death, it was deliberate.
