Talking about “violence”, people often tell me that “Matthew looks like a guy who hits women!” Maybe some of you who saw me for the first time today, might be thinking that, too. Oh, he must be beating women up...or I put on these glasses, and they made me look more frightening than ever. I can’t help giving you that kind of wrong impression. But I’m a person who wouldn’t hurt a fly, I’m pure as well, have a heart of gold, I’m like an angel, a goddess, pure person, that’s me. I truly dislike the black mass that crawls at home... called cockroaches...I hate them so much, when I find one at home, I just flee. I can’t help but scream a small scream like “Hya!!” I sound cute, no? A few years ago, I was preparing to get a bath. I walked through our living room and went to the bathroom. I took off my shirt. And I looked at the bathroom mirror to find that being. The black mass. I went “AAAAAAhhhhhhhh!!!!!” Panicked, I tried to flee. I couldn’t do anything about it myself. So, I tried to get help from my mother, and tried to run to the living room. “Mom!!! Help!! Help me!!” I tried to run into the living room. But the living room door was shut. The door had a pair of long rectangular glasses in it. Two vertical ones. I bumped my wrist into one of the glasses hard. My hand was a bloody mess. I still have a scar from that incident. That is the most violent episode I have. I didn’t kill the bug, but I just fled, and received “violence” on my own hand. That was it. You see, I am a pure-hearted kind human-being. I think you guys might experience the same kind of things. Like your first impression on someone is misunderstood. Could you share your experience of people taking you the wrong way by your first impression? This song is the opening theme to the anime “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury”, the latest Gundam. In my childhood, I didn’t watch any of the Gundam anime. When I grew up, I did watch some of them, not in sequence, though. “The Witch from Mercury” has a strong school drama side to it. The image I have for Gundam is that of wars. The first Gundam is exactly that, and Gundam SEED is the same in that sense. But this time, the story has school drama aspects. It’s not dark and somber. I don’t know how the story develops from here, but so far, it’s more approachable and easier to watch, I think. And it’s very intriguing. The reason why I avoided Gundam without really trying them was because I thought the stories would be very dark and serious. That’s why I haven’t watched many of them. But if you start watching from this one, if you are new to Gundam world, it might be easy to get into the story. In my mind, it feels different from past Gundam. I find it interesting. If you haven’t watched it yet, I recommend that you do. I mean, Gundam is so cool. The XVX-016 Gundam Aerial. Yes. Aerial is really cool. For your information, this song The Blessing was written based on a novel “Cradle Star”. But I heard that the novel is written from the point of view of Aerial. I haven’t read it yet. When I think of these background stories when I sing it, it moves me so much, it makes me cry. You know what I mean.
