From the time Rib-san was posting videoclips on nico-nico douga regularly, I’ve loved him and continue to love him. I think probably for the past eight, or nine years, I’ve loved him. How can I describe. He’s just so good. I of course listen to Rib-san’s songs a lot. But I also listen to Rib-san’s covers of a friend of mine, who is so good at singing like Rib-san. That’s how I’m smitten. I used to ask my friend every time a new song came out, I kind of remember I must have been a big nuisance… There’s a link to the original song by Rib-san in the Description. Translation of Matthew’s after-show chat (From )Thank you for watching. That was my cover of “Phantom thief” by back number.This song was a theme song to the TV drama “Koi wa Deep ni”. The drama is a love story between a marine biologist and an owner of a hotel chain, I think. It’s got to do with the sea. On subject of the sea, I really don’t like the ocean. I’ll tell you why I don’t like it. When I was a little boy, my family took me to the beach. My father is rather mischievous. He threw me in the ocean like this (Matthew mimics his dad’s moves throwing the little boy left and right). I enjoyed being thrown by him. So, I was smiling with joy. But, after a several throws, my old man’s passion for mischief was ignited, I guess. He lifted me up like this, and threw me at the wave that was advancing towards us. Unbelievable, huh? (He chuckles.) I was advancing toward the wave which was closing in on me. I thought, “Oh, I’m so dead.” (He laughs.) The moment I crashed into the wave, I tilted my head a little, and I saw the side. I don’t know why but I did. It was amazing. You know, a wave would roll like this. I could see the rolled shape of the wave for a long distance. Straight down to the far end. It was the inside of a wave. I saw the inside of a wave! Isn’t that amazing? I was so surprised. I was in awe. “Wow! Great!” The moment I thought that, the wave engulfed me. I think I don’t like the sea since then. It was my Dad’s fault. (He laughs.) I do like outdoor activities. But I’m not keen on the beach. I don’t know how to enjoy it. If you like playing outdoors, could you please tell me how to enjoy the beach in the Comments? I did a quick search on the internet. What I found out was… this maimaimaigoen, maimaimaigoen….It makes you want to repeat this word, huh? This maimaimaigoen’s catch-phrase is “Sanrio-first innocent suspense comic”. Isn’t that rather dramatic? (He laughs.) I mean, I never felt an element of suspense from Sanrio brand. I don’t know a lot about Sanrio in the first place, so I don’t really know, but what do you think?
