The another part in this is that Clay is transman. The bandages in his chest () and the brief images of his past (

I like to think that Clay was the person in Kalmia/Kilmer and that after Kalmia killed her (Clay's) "boss", Clay started working at the prison. I think that's why Kalmia has that look on her face at , because she realized it's the second time Clay has saved her. Even so, Kalmia's broken and doesn't sympathize (kind of like a sociopath, but I think it's a defense mechanism), which is why she doesn't seem to have any regret and it seems like it was all a ruse later on (
I like to think that Kalmia actually feels bad or sad or worried for Clay. Does anyone else like to think that just to keep their mind at peace?

Another interesting thing brought up in the comments there is Kalmia's demonic features like pointy ears and sharp eyes. It really represents her cunning and conniving personality ().
Edit: It would also make sense if Clay was the person who helped Kalmia because that's the only reason I can see for her binding her chest, because she'd have to hide her identity after the murder so police couldn't find her. (I don't think it would be workplace discrimination because the blue haired guard is also female, at you can see her chest) besides Clay possibly being trans or perhaps the pain being excluded for liking women before stuck with Clay.
I feel like he genuinely cares about Clay and the shock from betrayal at really hits him. I feel bad for him.
